The Revolutionary Communist Party, USA (RCP, USA), known originally as the Revolutionary Union, is a revolutionary Maoist organization that was formed in 1975.
It was formed by former members of the Revolutionary Youth Movement II (RYM II) faction of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) after that group fell apart in 1968.
The RCP is a participant in the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM), which is a grouping of revolutionary Maoist parties and organizations around the world, including the Shining Path and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).

The party started life within the Revolutionary Communist Group, which had split from the International Socialists in the 1970s.
At the end of the 1980s the RCP had moved away from its roots as a Trotskyist organisation, abandoning the notion of the class struggle and declaring the working class dead as a political force.
This followed after the lost election of 1987, when RCP members stood as the Red Front and talked about the replacement of the Labour Party with the RCP.

The RCP was a faction that canme out of the International Socialists (who in tern turned into the SWP).

All I can say is that the RCP at least hides itself better-- you had to be in the know at the Not in Our Name rally in New York to tell who had organized it, since it seemed very organic and collegial.
The core group of the RCP (I'm not sure the group was more than 10 people) would show up at every demonstration, push to the front, make a lot of noise, carry big placards, and make it seem like they were leaders or organizers or spokespersons.
Yes, and it's their party that is the only one that seems to be doing something about it, either, sad to say.
