Rhyl's seawater is usually brown in colour, perhaps due to the sediment from the River Clwyd.
Rhyl Football Club is currently one of the most successful teams in the Welsh football pyramid -- in the 2003-04 season they won the Welsh Premiership championship, the Welsh Cup and the Welsh League Cup, and were losing finalists for the FAW Premier Cup.
Rhyl's most famous monument was the Rhyl Pavilion - an elegant ornate building with five domes, which was destroyed in the 1970s.

Rhyl had been losing finalists to Cardiff City in 1930 and Crewe Alexandra in 1937 but did not feature in the final again until 1993 when they lost 0-5 to Cardiff.
Rhyl lost the away leg 3-2 but progressed on the away goals rule, the first Welsh team to make the second qualifying round since Barry Town in 1996-7.
Back in the UEFA Cup in 2005-06, Rhyl recorded their first-ever win in European competition when they defeated Lithuanian side FK Atlantas 2-1 in the home leg of the first qualifying round.

Rhyl is a good place to visit and a good place to live, its a case of opening your eyes and seeing what their is to offer.
The people who slag off Rhyl and the Rhyl inhabitants - if the outsiders were removed and dumped in the Irish Sea, it would be a far nicer place - Rhyl that is, not the Irish Sea.
When in Rhyl there is not much to do other then drink, so if you are not preggers or a druggy, you're an alcoholic, or all three, which I have seen.

 Rhyl Miniature Railway: 5th May 2001
John is one of the six locomotives built in Rhyl by Albert Barnes and Co, and operated on the railway from 1921 to 1969.
This will be the first time since then that it has returned, and will also be the first occasion for thirty years that two Barnes locomotives have been seen together in steam.
Although the prototype was mostly experimental, its designer must have known a thing or two even then, because the little engine has recently been hauling some quite heavy trains at Cleethorpes.
