The Lisbon Metropolitan Area consists of 18 municipalities (largest to smallest, by population): Lisbon, Sintra, Loures, Amadora, Cascais, Oeiras, Almada, Seixal, Odivelas, Vila Franca de Xira, Setúbal, Barreiro, Moita, Mafra, Palmela, Montijo, Sesimbra, and Alcochete.
The capital of the community is Ponte de Lima.
It has 7 municipalities (largest to smallest): Amarante, Marco de Canavezes, Baião, Cinfães, Celorico de Basto, Resende and Mondim de Basto.

UTAD (Universidade de Tras-os-Montes e Alto Douro) is the venue of the 1998 International Rock-Art Congress (IRAC 1998) which takes place in Vila Real, a charming town in the north of Portugal, from 6-12 September 1998.
