Later at the local school Stoner approaches rival academic Dr. Daniels (Richard B. Shull) about the possibility of getting an assistant over the summer after his former assistant had to in his words "leave at very short notice due to a family illness".
The truly stunning and very horrific transformation scenes where Dirk Benedict's character literally turns into a snake before the viewers eyes is a makeup wonder and was the work created by the same team responsible for the innovative ape makeup in the earlier "Planet of the Apes" in 1968.
The transformation sequence from human, to half human/half-snake, and finally to full-fledged snake is a decent (and very, very disturbing) piece of film special effect for 1973 before the pre-digital age.

 Shull Family Crest
In continental Europe, the most ancient recorded family crest was discovered upon the monumental effigy of a Count of Wasserburg in the church of St. Emeran, at Ratisobon, Germany...
In the Shull coat of arms as in all coat of arms the crest is only one element of the full armorial achievement.
We encourage you to study the Shull genealogy to find out if you descend from someone who bore a particular family crest.

dOc DVD Review: Cockfighter (Born to Kill) (1974)
When Mansfield hits rock bottom, he meets up with Omar Baradinsky (Richard B. Shull), who has the capital and the birds to get into the sport, but not the knowhow.
Shull is good as the exuberant wannabe who partners up with Frank.
Image Transfer Review: I think that most of what's wrong with the picture on this disc can be traceable to the cheap film used by Corman's productions and the low-light conditions under which it was filmed.

Frank Mansfield (Warren Oates) is a game cock trainer who has taken a vow of silence; he once bragged too loudly about his cockfighting prowess and ended up losing his best fowl in a drunken, late-night match before an important tournament.
Later, Frank wins ten roosters in a private backwoods match and trains them heavily with his partner, Omar Baradinsky (Richard B. Shull), working his way back to the top of his chosen craft.
He also attempts to reestablish his relationship with an old girlfriend (Patricia Pearcy) who doesn''''t know much about cockfighting and is repulsed when she actually witnesses one in the flesh.

dOc DVD Review: Unfaithfully Yours (1984)
Roman Polanski sure knows how to pick leading ladies, and when he released Tess in 1979 I developed a thing for Nastassja Kinski, so much so that I was probably one of the handful of people that actually saw the simply godawful Exposed (1983) in a theater just because she was in it.
This is hardly Moore's strongest comedic outing, Assante is wedged somewhere between straight man and lead, and for Kinski it was a mainstream speedbump on a career that for the most part was driven by oddly compelling characters.
The supporting cast—including Albert Brooks, Richard Libertini, Richard B. Shull—fills things out, but I was left wanting more Kinski, less Assante, and a funnier Moore.

He's thoughtful and gentle yet dedicated to bloodsport, and his contradictions can be felt in the tension between the comic adventures and gritty stories of Willeford's script, with the meditative intensity of Hellman's often serene direction and cinematographer Nestor Almendros's lovely images of the Deep South's rural beauty.
Cockfighter was one of the few films produced by "King of the B's" Roger Corman that lost money, so he added a dream sequence full of nudity, created a trailer with action scenes nowhere to be found in the film, and rereleased the film under the title Born to Kill.

I was born on September 23, 1915 to my parents, David H. and Daisy B. Shull, in the section of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, known as Glenwood, which obviously relates to their selection of my middle name.
I was preceded by an older sister, Evalyn May, and an older brother, Perry Leo, so that I grew up as the baby in the family.
I was fortunate in getting Richard Cox, a senior professor in the department, to supervise and offer expert and friendly advice on my efforts.

Back home, he sells the family house out from under his stylish but alcoholic brother (Troy Donahue) and surprised sister-in-law (Millie Perkins), then teams up with calculatedly countrified Omar (Richard B. Shull) in a series of matches heading for the big one at which that medal is awarded.
At home, he also gets back together with Mary Elizabeth (Patricia Pearcy), who was clearly a long-time lover, but who has never seen a cockfight at all, much less one featuring roosters trained by Frank.

David accepts the opportunity and moves in with Stoner and his daughter, where the doctor immediately begins David on a series of `inoculations', supposedly intended to build up his immunity to snake venom for protection in the event he gets bitten (yeah, right).
