Richard Hudson Bryan (born July 16, 1937) was Governor of the U.S. state of Nevada and a United States Senator from Nevada.
Bryan was born in Washington, D.C. and graduated from the University of Nevada at Reno in 1959 where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega.
Bryan served as a member of the Nevada State Senate from 1972 to 1978.

S.Senator Richard Bryan (D-NV) submitted testimony this morning to the House Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Energy and Power bluntly warning committee members of the serious health and safety issues with locating a "temporary" or permanent nuclear waste storage facility in the state of Nevada.
In his testimony, Senator Bryan methodically pointed out many of the recent scientific discoveries and natural occurrences that have strengthened opponents arguments that Nevada is the wrong place to create a nuclear waste storage facility.
In addition, Senator Bryan drew particular attention to the woefully inadequate health and safety standards that would be permitted by the federal government in this legislation.
