Richard Caborn has requested a meeting with the International Cricket Council to discuss how best to deal with what the sports minister called the "Zimbabwe situation".
England's one-day series in Zimbabwe, which had been on the brink of collapse after a number of British journalists were refused entry to the country, ended on Sunday with Michael Vaughan's side completing a 4-0 victory over their hosts.
Vaughan never hid his dissatisfaction at having to play there just a year after England had forfeited a World Cup game in the country and Caborn yesterday admitted the whole episode had been "unfortunate" but insisted steps would be taken to avoid an ugly repeat.

He succeeded George Caborn, now better known as father of sports minister Richard Caborn, but formerly famous as the communist activist at the head of the trade union wing of the Sheffield labour movement when it was a significant social force.
Caborn was a poor speaker and an even worse joke-teller, but the strength in numbers and solidarity of the local trade unions was impressive - and it won a significant reprieve for the River Don steel workers.
Whereas George Caborn had clear positions on both industrial and political matters, it is remarkably difficult to discover what Derek Simpson stands for.
