Richard C. Hoagland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Richard Hoagland is a propounder of theories on astronomical topics that are considered offbeat by many.
Hoagland has made numerous claims about the existence of extraterrestrial life (or intelligence, at some point), which he believes is supported by the presence of the so-called face on Mars.
Hoagland has appeared on CNN, the BBC, UFO Evidence and Conspiracy, Mysteries in Space, and is a frequent guest on Coast to Coast AM, often interviewed by George Noory.

Hoagland is also widely believed to have been the first to deduce the tantalizing notion of an ocean, possibly harboring life, flowing beneath the icy crust of Europa (right), one of the moons of Jupiter.
Richard C. Hoagland is, by career, a science writer as well as a consultant in the fields of astronomy, planetarium curating, and space-program education.

Hoagland - whom we have already seen as a purveyor of laughable theories and cover-up of visitors from space building ancient pyramids - has now created a screed which implicates Masons in the Attack on America of September 11, 2001.

Richard Hoagland fulfilled this task, and may well be the single most important historical figure in alerting the public to these enigmas.
Hoagland quickly took DiPietro and Molenaar on board and formed "The Mars Mission." This was not to say that it was easy for Hoagland to acclimate to the possible reality of this data; in his own words, he was "dragged kicking and screaming" to the truth of such an incredible postulate.
In Hoagland's book The Monuments of Mars, great detail is given to the precise analysis of these geometric relationships in the city, and it is strongly recommended for anyone pursuing further studies on this issue.

Richard Hoagland: It is an enlargement of part of the frame that was taken last year sometime, I am not sure when.

It should be noted that subsequent to Hoagland's presentation of his theory about the "face" on Mars, another NASA orbiter took photos of the same region; when NASA's newer photos indicated that the "face" is simply a natural rock formation, there were, as might be expected, accusations that NASA's scientists were covering up the truth.
Hoagland only starts to sound somewhat loopy when he starts hypothesizing about possible connections between the structures on Mars and ones on Earth (and crop circles, which is another debunked phenomenom that needs the debunkers to be debunked).
Richard Hoagland has a great way of presenting the "Case for the Face" and although Hoagland's Mars Vol 2 and Vol 3 are better because they include the latest (up to their release) information and are more expertly produced, the first in the series is not to be missed.

Together with Richard Hoagland he approached Dr. Carl Sagan who had lectured about communication with extraterrestrial intelligences at a conference in Crimea.
In recent years, Hoagland (now best known for his studies of a purported portrait of a humanoid Martian face in the geography of Mars, and an associated ruined city in the surrounding area, considered pseudoscientific by Sagan and many other scientists) has attempted to take some credit for the actual design.
