Patrick O'Brian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Patrick O'Brian (December 12, 1914 – January 2, 2000; original name Richard Patrick Russ) was a novelist and translator, best known for his Aubrey–Maturin series of novels set in the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars and centered on the friendship of Captain Jack Aubrey and an Irish–Catalan physician, naturalist and intelligence agent, Stephen Maturin.
The widely held belief that O'Brian was born in Ireland began to unravel in 1998 when British journalists uncovered that O'Brian was in fact born in Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire, that he was not a Catholic, and that he was the son of a physician of German descent and an English mother.
In November 2004, Nikolai Tolstoy published Patrick O'Brian: The Making of the Novelist, the first volume in a new biography of O'Brian with the use of material from the Russ and Tolstoy family and sources including O'Brian's personal library, which he came to inherit on O'Brian's death.

Richard and Brian retired to a rented house in Patrick's hometown of Bay Village, Ohio, to record the album.

"The Legacy of St. Patrick" by Richard Bennett
It was an island untouched by the Roman legions, and Patrick, the Evangelist, brought to it the Gospel of grace.
Patrick was himself descended from a family that had been, for two generations at least, in Christ Jesus.
It says, ‘From the passion of Christ to the death of Patrick there were 436 years.’ The crucifixion took place about A.D. 30; and adding these thirty years to the 436 that intervened between the crucifixion and the death of Patrick, we arrive at A.D. 466 as the year of his demise.
