Richard Wagner was born in Leipzig, Germany, on May 22, 1813.
On February 13, 1883, Richard Wagner died of a heart attack in the Palazzo Vendramin on the Grand Canal.
Richard Wagner Museum in the country manor Triebschen beside Lucerne, Switzerland where he and Cosima lived and worked from 1866 to 1872.

One is that it gives him a chance to collaborate with other artists, although he has done that on Schulze albums as well.
Wahnfried's first few efforts were in a more "rock" vein, while the last three covered techno territory.
Track 2 starts off with "Wahnfried 1883" (from "Timewind") type ambience, when a "Body Love" sequence starts to bubble, mixed with Michael Shrieve-ish percussion, although he doesn't play on this album.

Another justified reason, one not clear but perhaps not farfetched either, would be the level of performance that the two separate strings (separately) achieved, the accommodation within the private comfortable musical space rather than the special space and an exteriorization of common sense and leisure contact.
By this I am implying that, on one hand, the Wahnfried release are a step below the Schulze albums and that, on another hand, the last two preceding this (Tonwelle less, but especially Megatone) were low and uncrafty, though of a Wahnfried concept.
The taste of Wahnfried here isn’t creative nor fascinating, for that matter, at all; yet it does (and not surprisingly) a good job.

Richard Wahnfried, later Wahnfried is the side project of Berlin electronic pioneer Klaus Schulze.
The name Wahnfried was previously used in a title from his “Timewind” album.
Musically it alternates Schulze’s usual synth material in his solo works and a handful of instruments as guitar, tribal percussions, saxophone…thanks to the collaboration of several famous rock musicians.

These are believed to be unreleased studio outtakes from early "Richard Wahnfried" sessions.
The first track is similar to the music around Time Actor, and has a male vocalist similar to that of Arthur Brown, but I'm sure it's someone else.
The music is very similar to that of "Miditation" from the Richard Wahnfield of the same title, but this piece is much longer.

KS takes it as example for his own compositions, and many album or track titles are reminiscences to Wagner (Bayreuth Return, Wahnfried 1883, Richard Wahnfried, Ludwig II.
And keep in mind that KS' son's name is Richard Schulze...
As Klaus D. Mueller stated in "KS - The Works", IC argued that "Megatone" was not released seperately because the music was of bad quality.

--------------------------------------------------- A NEW WAHNFRIED was completed in October 1993 and released in July '94.
For no special reason Klaus dropped the "Richard" of his former "RIchard Wahnfried" project.
This recent CD is called TRANCELATION and has modern dance sounds and rhythm, far from any old-fashioned "Berlin School of Electronics" or what some people believe that a "typical" KS should sound.
