Richard Williamson became the fourth head coach of the Bucs when Ray Perkins was fired with three game remaining in the 1990 season.
He won his first game and was kept on for the 1991 season due in no part to the requests of the players who found his easy-going style a refreshing change from the tough line of Ray Perkins.
It didn’t work and Williamson was on his way at the end of the 1991 season after posting a 4-15 mark as the Bucs' head coach.
