Jesse Crook is one of the stalwarts of southeastern Nebraska.
While in Andrew County, he worked one of his brother’s farm, and on arriving at his place in Nebraska he built a rough log house with a stick and mud chimney, puncheon floor, shook roof, being sixteen by eighteen feet in dimensions, and with a small lean-to for a bedroom.
Descendents of Isaac Crook and great-grandchildren of John Crook, residing in the county, are Martha Snethen, Martha Ogle, Maxine Bogess, Kenneth Wittwer, and Merle Stalder.
