Parliament is an underground railway station in the suburban train network of Melbourne, Australia.
It is one of five stations (and one of three underground) that comprises the City Loop subway, which encircles the central business district.

The creation of the national railway network, of which Richmond Station and the branch line linking the town to the East Coast Mainline was a part, is a significant reminder of the industrial passion that was the hallmark of the Victorian age.
Richmond station opened for business on Thursday, September 10, 1846, barely a year after authority to establish the line was granted in July 1845.
Railway historian, Gordon Biddle in his book 'Victorian Stations', describes the station as a 'monastic Gothic station like no other, astonishingly medieval with its arcaded and buttressed entrance, mullioned windows and tall angled chimneys in dark freestone'.

The museum is located at 102 Hull Street, next to the former Southern Railway passenger station at First and Hull Streets in South Richmond in an express car donated by the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Company.
The Hull Street Station was donated to the chapter by the Southern Railway for the permanent home of the museum.

The former Richmond railway station is set for a dramatic transformation after a £240,000 grant was secured from Yorkshire Forward.
