Ricketts Glen State Park is one of the most scenic areas in Pennsylvania.
This large park is comprised of 13,050 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan and Columbia counties.
Although the area was approved as a national park site in the 1930s, World War II brought an end to this plan for development and in 1942 the heirs sold 1,261 acres, the Falls and Glens area, to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for a state park.

Those trailering to the park may avoid the steep mountainous section of Route 487 North from Red Rock to Lake Jean by approaching the park on Route 487 South from Dushore.

For those of you who look at maps, the marked height for this waterfall (36 feet) was probably switched with Ozone Falls since it is not 36 feet high.
Incidentally, this waterfall is named after the former landowner Colonel Robert B. Ricketts for whom the state park is also named after.
This waterfall is in Glen Leigh along the Falls Trail in-between Ozone Falls and B.Reynolds Falls.
