I only wish to indicate the true position of nature in regard to man, wherein to establish man, all right education tends; as the ground which to attain is the object of human life, that is, of man's connection with nature.
His relation to nature, his power over it, is through the understanding; as by manure; the economic use of fire, wind, water, and the mariner's needle; steam, coal, chemical agriculture; the repairs of the human body by the dentist and the surgeon.
The immobility or bruteness of nature, is the absence of spirit; to pure spirit, it is fluid, it is volatile, it is obedient.

In sum, defendant concludes that the prospective juror, Vicki Kelley, had not expressed an unequivocal opposition to the death penalty during questioning by the prosecution, and thus she was eligible for rehabilitative questioning by the defense.

 TLR: Introduction to Nature Issue
Wordsworth's nature was not the merely visited nature of the tourist, but neither was it the intimately known nature of those who inhabited and worked the land.
Their preservation was not simply a matter of patriotic sentimentality but functionally important for the life of the nation.
Nature in these poems is pastoral, but suffused with a sense of mystery or peace beyond the reach of words.

 EMERSON - NATURE--Web text
The wind sows the seed; the sun evaporates the sea; the wind blows the vapor to the field; the ice, on the other side of the planet, condenses rain on this; the rain feeds the plant; the plant feeds the animal; and thus the endless circulations of the divine charity nourish man.
A man's power to connect his thought with its proper symbol, and so to utter it, depends on the simplicity of his character, that is, upon his love of truth, and his desire to communicate it without loss.
Who can set bounds to the possibilities of man? Once inhale the upper air, being admitted to behold the absolute natures of justice and truth, andwe learn that man has access to the entire mind of the Creator, is himself the creator in the finite.

Soviet Psychology: The Riddle of the Self. Feliks Mikhailov 1976   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
Yes, thinking is creating, and particularly creating values that are not inherent in nature itself, just as the joy of life in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is not inherent in the physics of sound waves, and the luminous sadness of Levitan's landscapes is not intrinsically connected with the chemical substances used to paint the canvas.
The whole problem of consciousness, the heart of the riddle of the Self lies in understanding how in human activity the physical, the chemical and other natural being is transformed into the beautiful, the good, into honour, dignity, truth, and justice, which actually form the basis and aim of human life.
Naturally it is the person who separates his action with the object from the object as such, who can say: my action, my movement, my hand, my ear, and so on.
