  Harbour Grace: Ridley Hall
Thomas Ridley's son, William, was one of the founders of the Harbour Grace Water Company, the Harbour Grace Railway and the local grammar school.
At its peak, Ridley Hall was the centre of most of the social, political and economic activities in the community.
Ridley Hall was recognised as a Registered Heritage Structure in June 1994.

 Ridley Township Early Schools
The hall was leased from the school board and rented out for parties etc. When the hall was needed for school rooms the school board had to pay the investors $2,000.00 but no interest and opened in the fall of 1886.

Ridley, who went by his childhood nickname “Hap," was at Le Moyne from 1973 - 1994, and had stayed close to many of his former colleagues and students on the Heights.
Ridley was undoubtedly, one of the best teachers I have ever known, and might I add, a dear friend to all of us that used to have discussions down at Seton Hall during those magical years - 1982-1983.
Ridley was living in Foery Hall in 1979 as (I forget the term) the resident "adult-in-charge of idiots like me." My roommates and I had been enjoying listening to "Jesus Christ Superstar" at high volume at roughly 3 o'clock in the morning after a night doing Lord knows what.

Shaykh Fawzy's visit to Ridley Hall, 5-11 October 2003, during which he was accompanied by Bishop Mouneer Anis, the Anglican Bishop of Egypt and North Africa will, it is hoped, prove to be the first of a number of such exchanges.
During his time at Ridley Hall, Shaykh Fawzy learned at first hand more about the training of Anglican clergy, as well as meeting with a number of key theologians, such as Professor David Ford and others from Cambridge's prestigious Divinity Faculty.
He also expressed his belief that the visit was a visible expression of the love that existed between the Muslim and Christian communities of faith, and that the willingness of Al Azhar to participate in such an experience was a clear sign of how Muslims wished to reach out in friendship to others.
