In "Administrative Subdivisions of Countries", for the primary subdivisions of Lithuania, I listed the 56 municipalities as they stood in ~1997.
Since then, new developments indicate that the counties are going to continue to exist, so I have designated them as primary subdivisions, and the municipalities as secondary.

The first documentary reference to Plunge estate dates back to 1565.
There are two interesting facts about Plunge: 1882 saw the installation of the first telephone line in Lithuania connecting Rietavas and Plunge and in 1892 the first Lithuanian power plant was opened there.

My father's passport from the then new Republic of Lithuania in 1922 had dual headings in Lithuanian and French for place of birth, color of eyes, etc.
Most place names I've seen give the name of the town or village along with the name of the district or region or municipality in which the village is located, rather than a "community" name.
