The airport has 10 gates (most of them are jetways), it is rarely crowded; however, it is becoming increasingly popular with average passenger growth of about 20% per year.
This small airport has very nice cafés and bars, including an excellent restaurant on the mezzanine level, called “Lido.” “Lido” features very hearty Latvian food, so be sure to visit it (it may be well worth it now, when RIX based Air Baltic discontinued their in-flight meal service).
