		This usage of the terms is invoked almost exclusively by self-proclaimed followers of the Left-Hand Path; followers of religions described as "Right-Hand Path" either argue that this is a means of dividing religions, is a mislabeled or false dichotomy, or, that much of what is called "left hand" is in actuality satanism, or "fl magic".
		The two paths are viewed by Tantrists as equally valid approaches to enlightenment; vamachara, however, is considered to be the faster and more dangerous of the two, not suitable for all practitioners.
		The terms (RHP and LHP) are predominantly used to refer to various new religious movements and the New Age Movement in general, especially adaptations or innovations of ancient traditions deemed occult and/or (otherwise) esoteric.

		As opposed to the right hand path, which is what we would call the light magic.
		And on another note in many superstitions the left is bad luck (example: throwing salt behind you left shoulder as to blind or ward off satan...and oddly enough the devil always appears on the left shoulder in cartoons and movies...an obvious thing built in over the many years of strong Xian culture).
