That device is a constitutional “right to censor,” or a “right of control,” on the part of the listener/viewer.
Likewise, the effect of the right is at times said to be to strengthen parents’ ability to choose what television or movies or video games their children watch/play, and at times it is said to be to strengthen the ability of the individual generally to choose whether to watch “adult” entertainment.
Rights of privacy are not the same as free speech rights: their justification is different.

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal Tuesday by a student newspaper in Illinois against university administrators, upholding the right of administrators to censor public university newspapers throughout the Midwest.

  No person has the right to decide what another adult is allowed to view/ read, the only thing that should be censored is information that could put soldiers or citizens in danger, but anything else should be fair game.
  This company censored the works of the scientists purely because of the fact that the scientists were Israeli, this type of censorship is unethical and damages the perception the public has of the scientific community.
I believe that government has the right to censor a person only if the information could put soldiers or citizens in danger, but anything else should be allowed.

We are a small Jesuit University and are in the middle of re-examining our agreement with the school (right now the university president is considered publisher of the paper and had the right to kill any story at will).
We have a contract with an outside publisher, but the university does have the right to block or censor any story they wish, or even shut the newspaper down.
check out www.splc.com find out your rights, it doesn't matter if you are a private college funded by the schools president themselves, they do not have the right to censor you...if they do, take em to court, and you will win everytime.
