West Waterford Athletic Club was founded in 1994 when the Senior Sections of the Athletic Clubs of Dungarvan, Ring / Old Parish and Cappoquin / Ballinameela united to form one senior club.
Every year West Waterford Athletic Club organises over 50 events including The Spring Road Race Series (4 races), The Hill Running League in Colligan Woods (4 races), the Summer Road Race Series (10races), the Autumn Cross-Country League at St. Augustine's College (5 races) and the famous Winter League in Dungarvan over 15 nights.
In the years since our formation West Waterford A.C. has gone on to become one of the premier athletic clubs in Ireland.

While the city seems to have fared better than the county in terms of per-centage increases, the allocations are generally based on major road proj-ects in the pipeline and in the case of the city the Outer Ring Road is a major player for funding.
“Urban roads continue to be a priority for this Gov-ernment and I will ensure that the roads in Waterford are restored to cater for the increased volume of traffic, for the benefit of everyone in the city and county,” concluded Minister Cullen.
RECORD increased levels of grant aid for non-national roads will enable Waterford City Council make a start on the next phase of the Outer Ring Road, as well as commencing the next phase of improvement works on the Airport road.

 Waterford News & Star: Funding for Outer Ring Road and Ballybeg link
The Outer ring Road to the county boundary and the Carrickpherish Road will receive a combined €1.5m by way of specific improvement grant.
THE Outer Ring Road and the Ballybeg Link Road are the two major projects in the city area to benefit from substantially increased grants for non-national roads announced on Monday by the Minister for the Environment, Martin Cullen.
The biggest expenditure will be for the Outer Ring Road with €7m and the Ballybeg Road which has received an allocation of €0.53m.

My great grandfather, William HALL was born about 1840 at Cappamore in County Limerick, Ireland, son of Thomas HALL and Catherine COLLINS.
It appears that Pat Rossiter was one of the ring leaders of the uprising along with Beauchamp Bagenal Harvey, Cornelius Grogan, Patrick Prendegrast, Captain Thomas Nixon, and Colclough.
