 Telephone ringing circuits
Another apprach for ring detecting is to use a full wave rectifier circuit to convert the AC sign signal to the DC suitable for optoisolator and then put current limiting resistor and zener diode to the rectifier output.
Ring detector must work on ring signal which is 44-58V DC summed with 25+-3Hz AC ring signal in voltage range 35-75 V. The feeding resistance for ring generator is 800-1710 Hz.
Ring detector must not detect ring signal which is 44-58V DC summed with 20-3400 Hz AC ring signal which is less than 10 V. The feeding resistance for ring generator is 800-1710 Hz.

A pulse width modulation circuit according to claim 1, wherein said phase shift circuit comprises a barrel shifter to which the outputs of said oscillator are input, said barrel shifter shifting the phase of said outputs from said oscillator by a step in response to the output of said tap selection circuit.

Integral water-cooled circuit ring/bus bar assembly for high frequency generators - Patent 5055729
The circuit ring is fabricated from hollow copper tubing of a rectangular cross-section and of a size which will allow electrical circuit leads to be brazed thereto in such a manner as to avoid damage to insulation.
A further advantage of this invention is that of fabricating circuit ring-bus bar assemblies in such a manner as to combine the functions of the circuit ring and bus bars into a single assembly, thus eliminating a hydraulic-electrical joint.
Such additional space permits the circuit lead connector to be brazed rather than bolted to the circuit ring and additionally makes it possible to reduce the height of the insulation between circuit rings, thus spacing the insulation from the joint and allowing brazing to occur.

Ring modulation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ring modulation is an effect in electronics, related to amplitude modulation or frequency mixing, performed by multiplying two audio signals, where one is typically a sine-wave or another simple waveform.
It is referred to as "ring" modulation because the analog circuit of diodes originally used to implement this effect took the shape of a ring.
Ring modulators were used by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop to produce the distinctive voice of the Daleks in the television series Doctor Who.

Electrics > Extending a ring circuit using junction boxes
The best way of using junction boxes to extend a ring circuit, is to find the length of cable between the two sockets on the existing ring closest to the desired extension area.
The new cable runs round the room which you have extended the ring circuit to reach, looping out at points where you sockets are required - which can be cut into and added after the new section of the circuit has been tested - see Installing a power socket.
The digram on the left is an example of an existing ring circuit, and the diagram on the right shows the new part of the ring circuit in orange joined to the old ring circuit with junction boxes.

 RING MAIN INSTALLATION AND TESTING
Before working on any electrical circuit isolate the supply by switching off the main switch and remove the fuse to the circuit that you are working on, If it is a circuit breaker switch off the main fuse and circuit breaker and remove the wires from the top of the circuit breaker.
The ring circuit or ring main as it is often called starts at the consumer unit and returns to the consumer unit.
In theory each socket on the ring circuit could supply a spur to a single or double socket or FCU as long as the area is less than 120 square yards and the total load is less than 7200 Watts.

Electrics > Converting a radial circuit to ring circuits
The principle of the radial circuit, is that the mains cable leaves the consumer unit and passes through each socket until it reaches and ends at the last socket.
Alternatively, on a ring circuit the mains cable leaves the consumer unit passes through every socket and then returns to the consumer unit.
The advantage of the ring circuit is that electricity can reach the sockets from two directions and so reduces the load on the cable.

Reinstall the color-coded pin terminals in the same sequence as removed (be careful to install the blue color-coded pin terminal to the blue color-coded pin terminal of the stator cable, followed by white to white and clear to clear).

It resembles a miniature slip ring assembly in size and appearance and provides a self-contained, no-sliding contact rotary interface using flexible circuit tapes for those applications where continuous rotation is not required.
A pancake slip ring usually has: greater weight and volume for the same circuits, greater capacitance and crosstalk, greater brush wear and more readily collects wear debris on its vertical axis.

Wiring A Ring Main UK : Diy Hints, Tips & Advice : Diy Doctor
It is a ring of wires, circling your home, carrying the mains electricity to sockets on the way.
As both ends of the ring are connected to the same terminals at the consumer unit, the current runs in both directions imposing less of a load on the cables.
An average house has a footprint of about 64-70 square meters so this allows for the continuation of the ring into a porch or garage etc. The ring main must be protected by a 30amp fuse if it is on a cartridge fuse board, or a 32amp MCB fuse.

Phase response characteristics of model neurons determine which patterns are expressed in a ring circuit model of gait generation.
In order to assess the relative contributions to pattern-generation of the intrinsic properties of individual neurons and of their connectivity, we examined a ring circuit composed of four complex physiologically based oscillators.
PRCs that have a complex shape enable a circuit to produce a wider variety of patterns, and since complex neurons tend to have complex PRCs, enriching the repertoire of patterns exhibited by a circuit may be the function of some intrinsic neuronal complexity.
