Until 1998 (the release of GREATEST) I believed that the album version of RIO is the same as the single version, because I did not have a copy of the single and on the compilation DECADE, back in 1989, RIO featured as the album version.
The standard album version (no different keyboard parts), just some seconds from the intro lost and the last refrain was changed/edited.
This is a cut based on the album version (no different keyboard parts) the beginning and the end were changed.

One has to visit EWF's website to ascertain that Live in Rio is a 1980 recording, although a serious EWF enthusiast could guess that it was recorded around 1979 or 1980 because of the selections and the lineup; most of the musicians heard on this 55-minute CD have long since left the band.
The vast majority of EWF fans will agree that Gratitude remains the band's most essential live album, but Live in Rio is still a valuable -- if imperfect -- addition to their catalog.

Yep, the new Ministry album, "Rio Grande Blood" (the title is a parody of ZZ Tops "Rio Grande Mud") has leaked, so here's my review.
The key elements for every single song on this album have been stolen from other artists and previous Ministry albums and they are repeated ad nausauem here with no regard for any kind of dynamic or change of pacing.
This album totally rocks, and the points made by Al doens't seem to be understood by the general puplic in the us, so repeating can't be that bad.

The setlist is very interesting because, at that time, the Rio album was still unreleased, and most of the songs are off the first album.
Since the guys were promoting the Rio album, the tracklist is particularly focused on the Rio songs, so they played "My Own Way" in the slow album version, which is different from the fast video version they had always played in the early shows.
The slow album version of that song became longer and longer during the tour, and you can listen to the definitive 6 minutes long version in the November and December UK gigs.

IRON MAIDEN is not new to this, having released 3 live albums during the course of their 20+ year career.
This album is absolutely great, and it's good to hear the band translate the songs to the stage in a perfect manner.
So in a way, this album is not only a great collectors item for the MAIDEN-aholics, but also a great introduction into the material of the band, for the Metalhead that has committed the crime of not checking this band out.
