Yesterday, the protective services went through the motion of double checking procedures when it was learnt that British Queen's Counsel (QC) Timothy Cassel had been replaced by a State Counsel from the Department of Public Prosecution's (DPP) office, to prosecute Singh for the 1999 murder of Hansraj Sumairsingh on December 31.
Sumairsingh was the former Chairman of the Rio Claro/ Mayaro Regional Corporation.
There are 74 members of the public who are expected to be present at the Court as potential jurors, from which a panel of 12 will be selected to adjudicate in the trial.
