	Rise of the Triad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Rise of the Triad: Dark War (shortened to RotT) is a first person shooter computer game, first released on December 21, 1994 by Apogee Software (later known as 3D Realms).
		Rise of the Triad was originally intended to be a sequel to Wolfenstein 3D (initially with the formal title of "Wolfenstein 3D Part II: Rise of the Triad" [1], but this idea was dropped early on.
		The source code to Rise of the Triad was released under the GNU General Public License on 20th of December 2002.

	The Apogee FAQ: Section [2.8.11]: Rise of the Triad
		This was dropped, and the project became "Rise of the Triad," or, as it is casually known, "ROTT." Version 1.0 was released on December 21, 1994; in February 1995, versions 1.1 and 1.2 were released.
		Extreme Rise of the Triad was discontinued in November 1997.
		On September 1, 2000, the Extreme Rise of the Triad level pack was released as freeware.

		Rise of the Triad can still be fun to play, and since with the random level generator, the game can be endless, you can still spend hours playing it.
