The branch from Trenton to Bordentown was opened in 1838.The line again passes under 295, then runs along the Delaware River, eventually passing the defunct Roebling Steel works and arriving at the Roebling Station, a single platform on the west side of the track.
The line becomes single track again north of Burlington, as Assiscunk Creek Bridge is single track, and the line down the middle of Broad Street in Burlington is single track.
The head house of the PATCO Broadway Station is adjacent to the southbound platform of the River LINE station.

Taken shortly after Conrail received their first order of SD60M's, one of the first daylight runs of the westbound RoadRailer 261 train was caught east of Newport, PA. The single SD60M makes little effort hauling the 70 Triple Crown trailers around the reverse "S" curves along the Juniata River.
Here is Conrail 6657, an ex-Erie Lackawanna SD45-2, reposing at CR's Juniata Shops in Altoona, PA. Not yet extinct, these dinosaurs spent their later years pushing trains "over the hill" west of Altoona.
RoadRailer 262 (Chicago to Elizabethport, NJ) rounds the curve at Ardara, PA on Conrail's Pittsburgh Line on February 25, 1997.

But with the passage of time, they have become more significant because the remnants of the Elk River line are decrepit and these shots capture the era when the line was still used by the Chessie System and Conrail thereby offering stark contrast.
At this date (1982), Conrail coal trains would diverge from the old BandO on to the KandWV as well as serving a couple of customers across the bridge on the opposite side of the Elk.

The line is due to start directional running in July, so we paid a visit before it happens.The line mostly hosts coal trains, with a few manifests for variety.
Both BN/SF and UP/SP mergers are in full swing, and the line is a riot of coloful locomotives, the mountains are wearing spring green and traffic is heavy, we even had a surprise visit from the 6936, making for some awesome railfanning.

Several bridges carry the line over streets and parking lot access in the Newport Mall and office complex area, finally rising to a viaduct across Newport Parkway, several ground-level parking lots, and 18th Street, turning eastward to reach a station on the south side of the Hoboken Terminal property.
Tracks run down Essex Street to the Hudson River waterfront; the westbound track is shared with the westbound traffic on this one-way street, and the eastbound track has its own private reservation where on-street parking used to be located.
The residents of Essex Street were predictably up-in-arms about the choice to run the light rail down their street, although the resulting boom in townhouse and condo construction on the three blocks between Van Vorst Street and Greene Street has driven up the value of real estate in the area by a tremendous amount.

Your house is adjacent to the CSX (former Conrail) River Line, a major freight route between North Jersey and Albany.
The only issue is that there is freight line running very close to the rear of the house and I am trying to find out the frequency of use on this line.
Does anyone have any information on what line this is, how often does it run, and what hours of the day or night.
