The Manor of Wallington was in the hands of the Dymoke family who may have been non-resident and therefore did not need a large house.
Wallington Green may be an old village green but there is no record of any building around it before the late 18th century when Wrights Row and the old houses along the west side of Manor Road were constructed.
By 1913 the centre of Wallington has moved south and the 'high street' was along Woodcote Road to the south of the railway station.

On the corner of East Street and Wallington Way there is an area of marsh with a tributary of the river and a public car park known as the Lysees, which is accessed by car from halfway along the west bound carriageway of Wallington Way.
The river can be followed north by passing under the motorway and a public footpath follows close to the river for some miles.

Presumably they were a family group but John was puzzled by the fact that one was much darker and smaller than the others (he says it was not much bigger than the Crows which had been harrassing them).
This is a good time of year for spotting Little Owl, so keep your eyes and ears open, and the River Hamble is becoming a good place to see Egrets.
The Bunny Meadows are always good for birds in the winter but I noticed a couple of Egrets further up the river as I drove along the M27 yesterday heading for my daughter's ordination service in Romsey Abbey.

There are no Travel Bugs in this cache.
Suspect that there may have been some issues in the past with it getting washed into the river (!!!) the log book certainly suggests that it has been.
Replaced it where we found it, but it's too big a cache to leave out in the open.
