  CRC - Charles River Basin
The Charles River Basin defines the center of Boston's metropolitan area, giving residents and visitors alike an enduring sense of place and a refuge for recreation, contemplation, and renewal.
Once salt-water mud flats, the Basin was transformed in 1910 after James Jackson Storrow led the effort to dam the mouth of the Charles at what is now the Museum of Science.
The Charles River Conservancy was founded as an advocacy group dedicated to the restoration, enhancement, and maintenance of the Charles River Basin and its surroundings, particularly it's parks, parkways, and bridges.

The primary tributaries of the Marañón River are--from south to north--the Crisnejas, Chamayo, Urtcubamba, Cenepa, Santiago, Moroña, Pastaza, Huallaga, and Tigre Rivers (Cavero-Egusquiza 1941:49-51).
Along with the Orinoco, the river is one of the main habitats of the Boto, also known as the Amazon River Dolphin.
Local trade along the river was carried on by the English successors to the Amazonas Company—the Amazon Steam Navigation Company—as well as numerous small steamboats, belonging to companies and firms engaged in the rubber trade, navigating the Negro, Madeira, Purfis and many other tributaries, such as the Marañón to ports as distant as Nauta, Peru.

In 1996, the task force and its 15 committees (nearly 200 basin citizens) concluded an extensive resource assessment and planning process that recognized the significance of the Edisto River Basin and the importance of sustaining the area's natural and cultural heritage for the benefit of the local community and economy.
The Edisto River Basin is one of the few remaining flwater stream ecosystems in the United States that is in good condition; the basin sustains a diverse rural landscape and economy; and the people living in the basin have strong ties to the land and small town communities.
The basin should be managed as an important natural and cultural resource area for present and future generations, where the local economy is enhanced for the needs of local citizens and development proceeds in a way that respects and preserves the natural and cultural character of the area.

ACF River Basin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The ACF River Basin refers to the watershed of the Apalachicola/Chattahoochee/Flint River Basin, in the USA, which begins in northern Georgia and flows into the Gulf of Mexico at Apalachicola Bay, near Apalachicola, Florida.
Both states, as well as Alabama, have been involved in a water-use dispute for several years, mainly over the ever-increasing amount of water taken for metro Atlanta's suburban sprawl of lawns, pavement, sewage, and other pollution.
Keeping the two rivers at a navigable depth during these times requires large releases from dams upstream, sending potential drinking water dowstream for shipping, and often dropping lakes to levels dangerous to boaters.

The mouth of the Amazon River, where it meets the sea, is so wide and deep that ocean-going ships have navigated its waters and traveled as far inland as two-thirds the way up the entire length of the river.
Whenever rain falls and lands anywhere in the river basin it all runs into the lowest place in the pan, which happens to be the Amazon River.
