The group bought the Coliseum for $21 million, using a $6 million loan from the Cincinnati Equity Fund and more funds from a Dallas-based investment group run by John Kirchhofer, the brother of Cyclones owner Doug Kirchhofer.
That would be a change from the past several years, when the Coliseum faded in the eyes of local patrons and national event promoters.
With a group of low-profile owners who refused to make needed improvements, the building was considered a blight on the riverfront, and even a possibility for demolition to make room for a new stadium.
