While the current stadium was built in 1987, professional baseball got it's start in Harrisburg in 1883, and they have hosted games in both the minor and Negro leagues.
In 1953, a flood destroyed the stadium, causing a baseball void until the current stadium was built.

RiverSide Stadium is a very basic but likable place located on an island in the middle of the Susquehanna River.
The stadium offers mostly bench seating, although individual seats are in the front of the grandstand and in a few rows down the lines.
It's a very pleasant venue for watching baseball, although since it was built in the 1980s it lacks both the sense of history of the older ballparks or the modern conveniences and comforts of the new ones.

It puts RiverSide stadium to shame.you cant even compare those too, Riverside needs so many improvements, year after year i go there and not one thing has changed since putting up the new scoreboard ( which is outdated)they dont even clean of the bird doo and spider webs off the seats.

Due to a sponsorship deal with telecommunications company Cellnet, the stadium was name The Cellnet Riverside Stadium, however this was removed after the contract expired.
In the summer of 1998 an extra 5,000 seats were added to the stadium in a £5m extension to the West Stand, filling in the empty corners.
This extension increased the capacity of the Riverside to 35,100.

Old Municipal Stadium in Reading doesn't have any metal seats (which mind you can be dealt with if you have a seat cushion) or worse seats without backs, like there is at Riverside Stadium.
First Energy Stadium is really out in the middle of nowhere, or at least it's not near downtown or in the middle of a residential area (like say Hagerstown, MD).
So anyway, to answer the question, I think Reading Municipal Stadium is defnitely nicer than Harrisburg's Riverside Stadium, but I also think the overall experience is better at Harrisburg than at Reading.
