Road Town, located on Tortola island, is the capital of the British Virgin Islands.
It is situated on the horseshoe-shaped Road Harbour in the centre of the island's south coast.
The town is one of the principal centres for bareboating (self-hire yacht chartering) in the Caribbean.

The association had argued that the town abandoned the endings years ago, but Alander ruled the town had retained title since the roads were deeded to the town by the developer in 1932.
Road endings are unpaved, grassed-over rights of way that extend from the ends of paved roads to the Long Island Sound beach.
Town officials have maintained that the endings are public rights of way, but abutting property owners over the years filled them in with trees, shrubs, lawns and driveways as extensions of their lots.

Last year a Route 58 committee established by the town made a number of recommendations, including one urging the town to link the various parking lots along the road so that vehicles can go from one store to another without having to get back on the road.
However, without a new site plan, there is little the town can do to force businesses to link their parking lots, he said.

So I took this one road, because it was a faster way home for me at the time.

If you are thinking that you will have the beautiful beaches outside your doorstep, that just isn't the case here, or at any Road Town accommodations for that matter.
The nice thing about the PR location is that it is on the outskirts of Road Town, so all the shopping and other city amenities are less than 5 minutes away.
I suspect that many of the prior reviewers had higher expectations and these were not met, thus leading to their disappointment.
