  The Silk Road
The description of this route to the west as the `Silk Road' is somewhat misleading.
Secondly, the Silk Road was not a trade route that existed solely for the purpose of trading in silk; many other commodities were also traded, from gold and ivory to exotic animals and plants.
The height of the importance of the Silk Road was during the Tang dynasty, with relative internal stability in China after the divisions of the earlier dynasties since the Han.

WILD, as the title suggests, is a celebration of all that is wild and free.

That's because a team that can't win on the road is under enormous pressure to grab every last point in its own building.
If the Wild were to slip on home ice, even if they were to play.500 hockey for a stretch, they would fall out of the playoff picture before they knew what hit them.
My theory is that the Wild might not be big enough to withstand the onslaught of pressure generated by a fired-up home team.

After two weeks on the road, Wild players returned to the Twin Cities just long enough to pay some bills and run some errands before hitting the road again for a four-day Eastern Canadian swing.
But the Wild certainly made that theory feel like a fallacy Saturday night, when it played well enough to beat the Colorado Avalanche but was satisfied to at least get a point during a 2-1 shootout -- believe it or not -- loss.
Normally, the Wild is the king of the shootout, but its nine-shootout winning streak dating to Dec. 3 ended when Joe Sakic scored his first career shootout goal on eight chances after Mikko Koivu kept the shootout alive with a wrist shot just inside the post.

The SF Site Featured Review: The Wild Road / The Golden Cat
In The Wild Road, the rich and complex story of the adventures of Tag and his friends, traipsing across urban and rural England, in the shadow of the battle between good and evil, strikes an excellent balance between an animalistic and anthropomorphic treatment.
In The Golden Cat, perhaps because the threat to the characters is not as tangible and the mystical elements supersede the adventure, there isn't the sense of survival against incredible odds, or the immediacy and dark threat of The Wild Road.
When it comes to the mystical elements, these tend to remain largely in the background at the beginning of The Wild Road, enhancing the sense of mystery of the cats and their powers.

The Wild Road of the title is a dimension containing the memories of all animals that have gone before.
I enjoyed the Wild Road especially but found the plot a tad convoluted and confusing, both due to the author's writing style, and the puzzling and fantastical qualities of the subject matter in general.
The Wild Road and The Golden Cat alike are first fantasty, and secondly animal epic; you must be open to some extremely outlandish concepts traditionally only found in the realm of fantasy and sci-fi novels to enjoy this book.

Easy Rider (1969) is the late 1960s "road film" tale of a search for freedom (or the illusion of freedom) in a conformist and corrupt America, in the midst of paranoia, bigotry and violence.
Released in the year of the Woodstock concert, and made in a year of two tragic assassinations (Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King), the Vietnam War buildup and Nixon's election, the tone of this 'alternative' film is remarkably downbeat and bleak, reflecting the collapse of the idealistic 60s.
