		Road bikes today are constructed from a variety of materials, ranging from the traditional steel alloy to aluminum, titanium, magnesium and carbon-fiber composites, to combinations of the materials.
		Road Bicycling is one of the most popular sports in a number of European countries.

		The races are for a set number of laps on the course — distances vary from 8 km to 80 km (5 miles to 50 miles.) They may have individual or mass start events.
		A typical cyclocross race lasts for an hour, and is conducted on a short course with a variety of terrain.

		Bicycle races are usually divided up according to these age-based classes and experience-based categories, and riders strive to achieve results and gain experience in order to justify upgrading to more competitive categories.
		The Louisiana/Mississippi Bicycle Racing Association (LAMBRA) is the official point of contact for race permitting, officiating, event coordination, rider licensing, rider upgrades, etc. In order to compete in USCF-sanctioned events (all major races and the District Championships), you must join the United States Cycling Federation.
		Within a given event, races may be held for a number of age divisions, at the discretion of the race organizers.
