Rob Dougan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But in 1996, his new track "Furious Angels" (which should have heralded his first album) didn't please his then label; Dougan eventually released it as a single in 1998 with his new label Cheeky Records, just a few months before Cheeky went bankrupt, stopping the production on the album about to be released.
Dougan toiled six more years, doing remixes and licensing his tracks, in order to self-produce the album exactly like he intended it: backed by a full orchestra and a full choir.

Dougan has captured musically something that few producers actually ever achieve through a lifetime of output: the revelation of a definitive cross section of one’s inner soul.
A voice comparable to a stylistic mixture of a young Robbie Robertson and Tom Waits, Dougan navigates the listener though a maze of mesmerizing rhythms, driving beats, commanding percussion and elaborate dueling string sections that can only be fully appreciated through a quality home or club soundsystem or though a set of premier headphones.
Is Rob Dougan, the man, the mind, the organic machine behind the heavy-impact opus “Clubbed to Death”; the most brilliant darkside-inspired composer the world has yet fully experience, or is he a clever musical dopplegänger with a brilliant angle of ‘veiled’ desperation pretending to exorcize the haunt of inner demons?

Dougan on toki tuottanut alkuperäisen The Matrixin soundtrackin, kuten muuten myös Renny Harlin-flopin (yhden niistä) Driven soundtrackin, mutta erikoista silti on, että Douganin soolo ilmestyi Suomessa melkein viisi vuotta myöhemmin kuin jenkkilässa.
Furious Angelsin vahvuus ja heikkous makaa siinä, että Rob Dougan on oikeastaan tuottaja eikä artisti.
