The Band   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-07)
The Band comprised J.R. "Robbie" Robertson (guitar), Richard Manuel (piano), Garth Hudson (organ, saxophone), Rick Danko (bass guitar) and Levon Helm (drums, multi-instrumentalist).
This role, and Robertson's resulting claim to the copyright of most of the compositions would become a point of much antipathy between the band members, especially Robertson and Helm.
As a solo artist, Robertson had the most successful musical career, both as a producer and writing movie soundtracks before a highly praised comeback with a Daniel Lanois produced, self-titled solo album in 1987.

In 1991 Robertson released his not-as-long awaited follow-up 'Storyville' which had a definite zydeco and cajun flavour due mostly to its creation in New Orleans with the assistance of the Neville Brothers and Daniel Lanois once again at the helm.
