Robert Evans (born Robert J. Shapera June 29, 1930 in New York, New York) is a film producer best known for his work on Rosemary's Baby, Love Story, The Godfather and Chinatown as well as his hedonistic lifestyle and seven marriages.
Evans wrote in his 1994 autobiography The Kid Stays in the Picture that he was a "tangential character, at best" in regard to the case.
Evans is considered a noted playboy and raconteur, is a close friend of Jack Nicholson, and a regular visitor to Turnberry Island.

On the other hand, while producers may argue that they deserve even more credit for a good picture’s getting made than a director, the public is more familiar with the latter with the possible exception of blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who is probably more recognizable to his targeted fans than most of his directors.
I don’t know if any other producer can match the career of Robert Evans, the most swashbuckling of all in his profession, so it’s no wonder that he’s the guy who gets the biopic.
I would have liked the producer of this visual delight, Graydon Carter, to let us see more of what a film producer really does to get works off the ground.
