Robert (Bob) Hyatt is an Associate Professor of Computer science at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
He is the author of the Computer chess program Crafty and the co-author of Cray Blitz, a two-time winner of the World Computer Chess Championships.
Hyatt earned both a Bachelor's degree in 1970 and a Master's degree in 1983 from the University of Southern Mississippi.

State District Judge Robert Hyatt dealt a blow to 72 Metro professors who sued the collegeâs board of trustees when he denied their appeal to reconsider his judgment on the case.
Hyatt ruled in favor of Metroâs faculty last July, and each was awarded only $1 in damages.
Hyatt was not available for comment, and Sherry Patten, the director of College Communications, said she did not want to comment.

Several people, but most especially Robert Hyatt, the co-programmer of the Cray Blitz computer program, which won the 1986 World Computer Chess Championship, have demanded that I come forward with any evidence of actual cheating at that event.

It is being started by some of us in Georgia, though most of our close relatives are in North Carolina (with many elsewhere of course!).
