Kovac was Professor and Director, Division of Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery and Urogynecology and Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecologic Surgery, Wright State University School of Medicine, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics from 1994 to 2000.
Kovac is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology; Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists; Fellow, American College of Surgeons; and Fellow, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

Robert Kovač [ˈrɔbɛrt ˈkɔʋatʃ] (born April 6, 1974 in Berlin, Germany) is a Croatian football defender of Bosnian Croat descent.
With Croatia, Leverkusen, and Bayern, Robert was teammates with brother Niko.
The Berlin-born Kovač and his older brother Niko are among a handful of players on the national team with foreign origins and the pair have brought some of the stamina necessary to play in the Bundesliga to Croatia's game.

An editorial by Dr. Kovac appearing in the June issue of Obstetrics and Gynecology, outlines the rationale and surgical approach for selecting the appropriate hysterectomy procedure for patients.
Kovac's suggestions for increased use of transvaginal hysterectomies considered data from a large study of 4,595 hysterectomies performed at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri from 1988-1993.
Kovac also notes that vaginal hysterectomies have significant advantages for patients including less pain, decreased complications, faster recuperation, shorter hospital stay, faster return to normal activities, reduced hospital charges, and better quality-of-life outcomes.
