Morton was appointed 18th Judicial District Judge from 1950-1951 and served as special legal counsel to the City of Wichita from 1955 to 1962.
In 1953, Morton was appointed to the University of Wichita Board of Regents and served on the board until 1964.

They will be looking for evidence of wave height, flooding, the extent and nature of debris deposition from the tsunamis and all sorts of indirect measures aimed at figuring out the true nature of these killer waves.

The nine rank, three manual Morton was originally a 6/2 built for the Paramount in Baton Rouge, LA. Another three ranks were added along with sound effects so that it now encompasses nine ranks or approximately 1000 pipes.
The Morton console has 150 stops and is equipped with an Artisan computer relay system and player.
This Morton installation has served as a beta test site for the current Artisan relay and software, and Bob is extremely pleased with the products and support he received from that company.

The Old Mill's Morton organ saw service for 11 years until the theater closed in 1938 (coincidentally, the year the Lakewood opened).
Before the building was eventually demolished, a lover of pipe organs rescued the Morton console and equipment and stored it away in a warehouse.
In 1984 this organ collector arranged for the Morton to be re-assembled and restored into the Lakewood Theater.

It is one of several called "Wonder Mortons", an allusion to a group of "wonder theatres" but erroneously attributed to the attributes of the organs, which were indeed impressive for their 23 ranks.
This series of Morton organs are probably among the most Wurlitzer-like in their selection of ranks and unification.
In fact, the stop layout of this one (of course quite modified from the original, and controled by Devtronix) is very easy to deal with.
