Robert Emmanuel Pirès (born October 29, 1973 in Reims, France) is a French international football player, of Portuguese and Spanish descent.
Pires played his last game for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions league final against Barcelona, where he was the player sacrificed after goalkeeper Jens Lehmann's sending off during the match.
Pires was substituted (replaced by Manuel Almunia) in the 20th minute of the first half after Jens Lehmann was sent off preventing a goalscoring opportunity by fouling Samuel Eto'o outside of the box.
