Charles Edward Louis John Casimir Silvester Maria Stuart (December 31, 1720 – January 31, 1788), was the exiled claimant to the thrones of England, Scotland, and Ireland, commonly known as "Bonnie Prince Charlie".
Charles was the son of James Francis Edward Stuart who was in turn the son of King James II of England and Ireland, James VII of Scotland, who had been deposed in 1688.
Now he was pursued by the king's son, the Duke of Cumberland, who caught up with him at the Battle of Culloden on 16 April 1746, and inflicted a heavy defeat on the half-starved and demoralised Jacobite army.

Henry Benedict Maria Clement Thomas Francis Xavier Stuart (March 11, 1725 – July 13, 1807), born in Rome, Italy, was the second son of James Francis Edward Stuart, the Old Pretender, to the thrones of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
On the death of his brother, on January 31, 1788 Henry Stuart considered himself King Henry IX and I; he was the last of the direct male line of James II and VII and the last genuine pretender to publicly claim the thrones of Britain.
There is a monument to the Royal Stuarts designed by Antonio Canova in the basilica to their memory on one of the columns in the basilica proper.

James was born on 19 June 1566 at Edinburgh Castle, and automatically became Duke of Rothesay and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland, for he was the eldest son of the monarch and thus the heir-apparent.
In 1623, the Duke of Buckingham and the Prince of Wales travelled to Madrid in an attempt to secure a marriage between the latter and the daughter of the King of Spain.
James died in 1625 of ague, probably brought upon by kidney failure and stroke, and was buried in the Henry VII Lady Chapel in Westminster Abbey.

The eldest, Henry Stuart, became Prince of Wales when James VI was invited to take the English throne following the death of Queen Elizabeth I. But Henry died in 1612, and James's second son, Charles, succeeded James on the throne as King Charles I, in 1625.
Few modern historians cast any doubt on the King's homosexuality and the fact that his sexuality and choice of male partners both as King of Scotland then later in London as King of England were the subject of gossip from the taverns to the Privy Council.

Robert Bruce Stuart, Duke of Kintyre (18 January 1602–27 May 1602) was the fifth child of King James I of England and Anne of Denmark.
On 2 May 1602 he was created Duke of Kintyre, Marquess of Wigton, Earl of Carrick, and Lord of Annandale, all in the Peerage of Scotland.
