Robert Thirsk (born August 17, 1953) is a Canadian astronaut.
During his 1996 mission, Thirsk wrote two columns for the Calgary Sun newspaper.
Although live interviews with astronauts had been conducted before while still in orbit, this was the first occasion in which an astronaut had written and filed a story to a newspaper -- and it was published -- while the astronaut was still in orbit.

On Feb. 25 Memorial University received a visit from Dr. Robert Thirsk, an astronaut who flew as a crew member on the space shuttle Columbia (on the Life and Microgravity Spacelab mission).
On June 1996 Dr. Thirsk attained his childhood dream of floating in space as a payload specialist on STS-78, a Life and Microgravity Sciences Spacelab Mission, which lasted a record 17 days in orbit.
Thirsk was one of the original six Canadian astronauts selected in December 1983.

It was begun about 1430 and built into the c16 - the tower apparently first (see the straight joint between its E buttresses and the aisle w walls), the chancel after the nave and aisles.
The stimulus seems to have been the foundation of a chantry by Robert Thirsk, who died in 1419.
Its front is plain (of nine bays and three storeys), but it has a good staircase with twisted balusters and Queen Anne arches and in an upper room a good midde but with a pretty additional canted bay with Gothick glazing bars.
