Roberto Fontanarrosa was born in Rosario in 1944.
He was a representative of the Argentinan sharp humor cartoonists that made their appearance in the 1970s.
Several compilation albums of his gags have appeared ('¿Quién es Fontanarrosa?', 'Fontanarrosa y los Médicos', 'Fontanarrosa y la Política', 'Fontanarrosa y la Pareja', 'El Sexo de Fontanarrosa').

 Bad times in Buenos Aires make for cartoon bonanza
After a four-year recession that has left a third of Argentina's 36 million people in poverty and over 18 percent unemployed, humorists are hard at work poking fun at the people managing Latin America's third-largest economy.
Far from being frightened by Argentina's trying times that sparked widespread protests and the resignation of two presidents within a month, Roberto Fontanarrosa, who draws for Clarin tabloid newspaper, said he believes tough times are the raw material of humor.
"Crises are generally rich soil for humor, because humor is always a counter-position to something and that means crises offer so many errors, so many contradictions that the issues grow richer," Fontanarrosa told Reuters.

In another story, amid the turbulent shipwreck of a transatlantic cruise liner, a millionaire passenger spends some quality time in the ship’s library, choosing three books to read on the desert island where he surmises they will land.
Fontanarrosa, with three novels, nine volumes of short stories, and forty volumes of daily cartoons (some of which have appeared in US newspapers) to his credit, is a hit just about everywhere in Latin America and has been published in Spain (RBA and Alfaguara), as well as Italy (Feltrinelli).

Rosario has a great comic writer called Roberto Fontanarrosa, he made many characters but the most famous since he begun and until now is Inodoro Pereyra, a really comic argentinian 'gaucho' who have the most hilarious situations and is always with his dog Mendieta who is more intelligent and reflects more than him :P
There was a great actor(comedy) called Alberto Olmedo and he made a new language called Rosarigasino which consist in adding 'gas' after the strong syllable in a word.
