 The Robin Hood legend
In the time of Richard the Lionheart a minor noble of Nottinghamshire, one Robin of Loxley, was outlawed for poaching deer.
So Robin took to the greenwood of Sherwood Forest, making a living by stealing from rich travellers and distributing the loot among the poor of the area.
One thing to note about the early legends is that Robin Hood was not an aristocrat, as he was later portrayed, but a simple yeoman driven to a life of crime by the harsh rule of the law of the rich.

Robin Huw Bowen comes from a Welsh-speaking family based in Anglesey in the North of Wales.
Initially Robin was drawn to the harp through the music of the renowned Breton harpist Alan Stivell, who inspired him to learn about the harp music of his own heritage.
Although Robin's repertoire closely reflects that of the Welsh harp in its heyday (mid-17th to the end of the 19th Century), his playing and interpretation of the music continue the unbroken tradition.
