		It is a credit to their talent that Robots in Disguise manage to create a stylistic art-school sound where these potentially aggravating tendencies seem acceptable.
		Robots in Disguise includes some powerful moments that show that the band has the potential to rise above the herd of one-note synth-rockers that dominate the new wave revival, but these moments are always trapped in unstructured songs that fail to make an impression.
		Robots in Disguise's first album is full of wonderful sounds and wonderful song ideas, but the two never seem to mesh.

		Beginning in 2001, the Robots in Disguise (or RiD) cartoon aired in various countries around the world, a return of sorts to the Transformers' roots.
		Various hints from the translations of the original, Japanese tech specs indicate that all the Transformers featured in the Robots in Disguise cartoon came to 'modern' earth from some far-flung future, one that occurs after even the Beast Machines series.
		While these may be mere nods to the legions of Transformers fans, it is nice to think of the RiD series as an end cap to the original Transformers continuity, which has been replaced with the new Armada and Energon shows, both of which apparently start from a different 'base' entirely.
