Rochester took advantage when Buffalo went two men down later in the period, closing to within one, at 8-7, on goals by Scott Evans and Williams.
Rochester won the ensuing faceoff, but couldn't score, and suddenly, A.J. Shannon came down the floor looking at a open net, inviting what would almost certainly be the final nail in Rochester's coffin.
