With twenty years of experience now in community midwifery and rural primary health care, we in Rocinante are embarking on the creation of a project that will include a birth center with midwifery training facility, a complete senior community living center, ranging from assisted living and adult daycare to a hospice for the dying.
Rocinante's role is to maintain the land and to provide organizational administration for the project.
Part of this infrastructure is the staffing of an office to facilitate communications between Rocinante residents and their legal and medical support structure, whether public or private, to assist residents and outpatients in obtaining their entitlements.

Rocinante is the name of Don Quixote's horse, in the novel Don Quixote by Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra.
The Spanish word ante means "before" or "previously", and as the narration of the novel states at the beginning of the book, when Don Quixote thinks of a name to give to his steed in order to set out on his adventures, he chooses Rocinante to establish it as no longer being a nag.
Julia de Burgos describes herself as Rocinante in her 1938 poem 'A Julia de Burgos': "que yo soy Rocinante corriendo desbocado," trans.

Rocinante is a baroque ensemble founded in 1997 consisting of two violins, viola da gamba/cello and harpsichord/organ but, when needed, can easily expand to a larger ensemble.
Rocinante has been in collaboration with soprano Tuuli Lindeberg and vocal ensemble Lumen Valo (Lumen Valo and the continuo group of Rocinante have recorded Zelenka's responsories for the label Alba; NCD 14:1-2).

Whether they got the name from Zeus' horse of the same name, Cervantes' Don Quixote, or from the name of the mobile home in the book "Travels with Charlie" is an open guess - the guy (Neil Peart) who wrote the lyrics has a very extensive literary background.
Like my son's name, Nicholas, which was chosen before I even met my wife, I picked the name Rocinante Software for my company in the mid-1980's, long before I was could really program, several years before I ever set foot in Spain, and around a dozen years before I started Rocinante.

At the start of this portrait of England as 'a garden of secrets, full of tradition and myth, violence and cover-up', Hurt hides away from reality in a derelict cinema (geddit?), until a conversation about narrative with the ex-projectionist (Jewel) forces him to take to the road aboard a truck named Rocinante.
The allusion to Quixote's horse (and thus, presumably, to Cervantes' wittily wayward storytelling) is misleading: during the ideologically unconscious Hurt's aimless odyssey to Dartmoor, his main encounter is with Jess (Douglass), a political activist scarred by the '84 miners' strike and intent on industrial sabotage.
