Rock Around the Bunker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rock Around The Bunker was a 1975 album by French singer and songwriter Serge Gainsbourg, containing songs which combined pseudo-1950s musical arrangements in the manner of Grease or The Rocky Horror Show with lyrics relating to Nazi Germany and World War II complete with Gainsbourg's usual sex and scatology.
Considering that Gainsbourg as a young Jewish teenager in occupied France had had to hide from the Nazis and Vichy authorities, it was all the more controversial in a country that has had a long period of coming to grips with its role in World War II.
Songs like "Nazi Rock", "Tata Teutonne" and "SS in Uruguay" further established Gainsbourg's role as France's resident pop provocateur, and was contemporary with David Bowie's similar Nazi obsession.

Serge Gainsbourg is everything you'd want from a French rock star; audacious, decadent, a real poseur who was genre hopping long before it came into vogue.
The first recordings that really made waves were songs that had the ferocity of American rock, without merely aping them.
The hits continued and Serge continued to shock all the way to the end of his life, recording songs like Rock Around the Bunker, Lemon Incest (with his daughter, Charlotte Gainsbourg) and even appearing in drag on one of his last albums.
