Rock County is a county located in the state of Wisconsin.
The racial makeup of the county is 91.01% White, 4.63% Black or African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.78% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 1.77% from other races, and 1.50% from two or more races.
In the county, the population is spread out with 26.50% under the age of 18, 8.60% from 18 to 24, 29.80% from 25 to 44, 22.30% from 45 to 64, and 12.70% who are 65 years of age or older.

The Wheeler Pit is a 15-acre gravel quarry located east of the City of Janesville in La Prairie Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, at the intersection of County Highways O and J (See Appendices A and B).
In 1971, liquid slurry was noticed seeping to the surface of the disposal area along the dike, and laboratory analysis revealed the composition of this material to be similar to paint and paint booth scraping samples obtained from GM.
The Rock County salt storage shed along highway J appeared to be in operation and was located about 100 yards from the site.
