Restoration Rockcliffe Park Pavilion, Ottawa, Ont. Canada
The Rockcliffe Park Pavilion was built in 1917 and was in urgent need of repais: the asphalt shingle roof was at the end of its useful life, the roof structure was rotted at various locations and some of the concrete architectural work was badly deteriorated.
In order to ensure its integration into the park's environment, it was decided that its architecture would be based on the architectural vocabulary of the main pavilion, but that its details would be contemporary, thus leaving no doubt on the period of its construction.
