Both Congdon and ABC News officials have confirmed that once the Internet star's contract runs out at the year's end, they will cut ties with one another, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

Rocketboom is a daily three-minute newscast hosted by perky Amanda Congdon, and produced by Andrew Baron.

Today’s Rocketboom video-cast was all about the introduction of ads and the eBay auction, with Congdon doing a parody of crass advertising techniques.

Rocketboom's majority owner, Andrew Baron, has said that Congdon quit because she wanted to move to Los Angeles and that he wasn't able to meet her demands to move the video blog's production facilities there.

Now, as Rocketboom struggles to get back on its feet and rumors swirl about Congdon's future--including fodder on Valleywag that she may join the popular videoblog 88Slide--CNET News.com got an opportunity to ask the former face--and more--of Rocketboom what's really going on.

 Rocketboom | PopMatters Multimedia Review
Rocketboom is a weird little beast, but the last time I checked, pretty much everything on the Internet was a weird little beast.
In addition to making an appearance in an episode of C.S.I. (in which a killer watches Rocketboom to check up on news of his own crimes), the podcast has been picked up by TiVo, as an experiment in the use of the set-top box to download web-based content for playback on a television set.
While Rocketboom does have a number of contributing bloggers on its roster and doesn't shy away from the occasional sketch, its unusually strong focus on a single personality makes it stand out from the rest of the podcasting scene.
